The design varies slightly across platforms: some are more fluffy and cotton-like, while others feel flatter and more minimalist. It's simple, recognizable, and evokes feelings of calm or overcast weather.

The cloud is a weather staple: people use it to describe cloudy days, complain about gray skies, or set mood through literal weather reporting. But it's also used figuratively. "My head's in the clouds" gets the cloud emoji. It represents daydreaming, being spacey, or having your mind elsewhere.
